What happens at the first few practices?

The first  week of practice is conditioning, and is non-contact. Players should wear t-shirt, shorts, and cleats.

After the week of conditioning practice, players will start with practicing with full pads(helmets, shoulder pads etc)

Coaches will lead the program, under a structured  practice environment.

When will we know what team we are on?

Teams are formed primarily by grade level. Grades can be combined based on number of players. If that happens coaches work closely with all players on that level to determine skill levels.  Once each player is selected to a team, the Head Coach, and the coaching staff will run the team. This included team specific communications, expectations, etc. Each team will be asked to have a team parent to support the Head Coach on all non field matters such as emails, fun raising, volunteer help etc.

What grades belong to each division?

Titan Division- This will be a travel flag football team
Grades 1-2

7th and 8th graders may play on the A or B teams.
5th and 6th graders will play on the C or JVC teams.
3rd and 4th graders (and age eligible Second graders) will play on the D team

When will practices take place once school and the season starts?

Once each player is assigned to a team, your head coach will determine your practice schedule. Most practices are Tue, Wed, Thurs 6:00-8:00 pm with a run through practice Saturday mornings. Because the practice field has lights, we are able to practice at night after daylight saving time ends.

When are the games?

Games are played on Sundays. Actual game schedule will be posted on the web site.

How long do games run?

The Titans play a running time clock. The rest of the levels play 10 minute quarters with the normal clock stops that happen based on what's going on on the field.

How can I volunteer?

  • Each team will need 1 play counter and 1 spotter for every game.  The play counter is required by the league to officiate that each player on a team has received their designated number of plays each game. The spotter is on the opposing sideline to verify their play counter is correct.

  • Teams are also required to have 3 volunteers to hold the chains and markers for their home games.
  • Each team is responsible to have a team parent who helps to communicate league and team information.  The team parent is responsible help to fill volunteers for the concession stand for their team's home games.
  • Each team is required to have 3 parent volunteers in the concession stand 1 hour before each home game and an additional 3 parents for one hour after their home game.  You will never miss your child's game! The concession stand is the major fundraising for Beverly Youth Football and Cheer so it is very important we have the man power to run the crucial part of our program.

It takes all of us as volunteers to run this program so please volunteer as you can.  An hour of your time goes a very long way!
